Here's the quick version: For a 10mg vial: Add 2mL of bacteriostatic water (BAC water) this gives you 5mg/mL For a 0.25mg dose: draw 5 units (0.05mL) on a U-100 insulin syringe For a 0.5mg dose: draw 10 units For a 1mg dose: draw 20 units For a 20mg vial: Add 4mL BAC water same 5mg/mL concentration, same dose math above Injection technique: SubQ injection pinch the skin at belly, thigh, or upper arm 31g or 32g insulin needle ( inch length is fine for subQ) Inject slowly, hold for 5 seconds before withdrawing Refrigerate after reconstitution stable 4-6 weeks in the fridge Realistic Expectations for Weeks 1-12 Here's what most people experience on a conservative titration, assuming reasonable diet and some exercise: Weeks 1-2: Minimal weight change
