In the case of lipid disorders, intensive lipid-lowering treatment is currently recommended (and not just intensive statin treatment, as it has been for years) in order to achieve in our patients as low concentrations of low density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol as possible, according to the rule of the lower the better, but also to do it as soon as possible (the earlier the better) and maintain it as long as possible (the longer the better), as this gives us a chance to reduce the risk of cardiovascular events even in every other patient (5055%) [6, 7]
