GLP-1Rs are expressed in the pancreas, stomach, intestines, heart, kidneys, lungs as well as multiple regions of the brain [27,28,29]
It makes a lot of sense due to the difference in response and tolerance rates among people who are taking GLP-1 medications
But, for the most part, patients following standard protocol start with .25mg for the first four weeks and double the dosage in four-week increments until week 13 (e.g., 0.5mg weeks 5-8, 1mg weeks 9-12)
And if someone eventually raises the dose out of frustration with slow progress, side effects can still appear later
Dilutions into PBS or other physiological buffers can be made from a concentrated stock solution prepared in water or a weak buffer
