Victorian 9ct Yellow Gold Mechanical Pencil By Sampson & Mordan Circa 1890 especially not in pristine conditionDating to the late Victorian (dated 1896) era we have this large mechanical propelling pencil by Sampson & Mordan. Crafted from 9ct yellow gold and featuring fine engine turned pattern throughout and topped with a round fine Bloodstone to the top. Measuring a substantial 12cm in length when extended and weighing a very healthy 13 grams this one feels beautiful in the hand. An inscription reading From S. L. J from S. H * 1896 * dates this one nicely.
